Vitamin D will not prevent COVID

Vitamin D will not prevent COVID!

While there is a growing body of evidence that Vitamin D plays a role in protecting against COVID, Vitamin D will not prevent COVID on its own.

Public health authorities recommend essential measures we all must take to reduce our chances of getting infected with COVID and spreading it to others.  COVID is mostly transmitted through the air in respiratory droplets and aerosols, and may also spread through surfaces that we touch.  Thus, we should:

  1. maintain at least 6 feet (2 meters) of distance between ourselves and others.
  2. avoid crowded and indoor spaces.
  3. avoid gathering with people outside our household.
  4. wear quality masks that cover our nose and mouth and filter out virus droplets.
